Damn at a time of austerity...

Have they gone mad? What, is this serious? Did they dare?

Yes, the Mundaneum and the archive centers that have agreed to be its accomplices have done so: put together a bizarre exhibition. A single watchword: the unusual! They mobilised their teams (even the management stuck to it, that is to say ...) to search the most buried boxes, to search the most obscure corners of their deposits in order to unearth the most unexpected pieces of their collections. Their guides were a hint of scholarship, a dash of flair and luck, a pinch of chance and a generous dose of second degree. Duly masked (period obliges!), they unearthed documents and strange objects, unusual, eccentric and funny, sometimes insolent and impertinent, which usually remain shamefully confined in their box (for reasons unrelated to Co-widget 19). This time is over, they too have the right to a release of confinement! 

And no, it's not serious. The second degree, derision and the absurd reign supreme in this exhibition. Do not seek any logic there if it is not the willingness of the Mundaneum to make you discover the hidden side of the world of archives. Let yourself be surprised by the craziest anecdotes, the most intriguing objects, the small ads and the wackiest newspapers. Here, no long developments or soporific files here. On the menu: small papers, large papers, things and all sorts of bric-à-brac that will confuse you, stimulate your zygomatics and leave you puzzled. Do not doubt it, by the end of your visit, your view of the world will be completely turned upside down. One thing's for sure: you'll never look at an archive center the same way again.
